In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

3 reasons to book
  • Genuinely helpful staff — Guests repeatedly single out the owners and staff for warm, attentive service, local tips and small gestures like a parting gift of wine and homemade marmalade.
  • Positioned for the Vatican and metro — A few minutes' walk from Ottaviano station on Metro A, and close enough to the Vatican museums and St Peter's for easy visits. The Borghese Gallery is roughly 2.7 km away.
  • Clean, modern rooms — Guests describe the rooms as newly furnished, spotless and well equipped, with flat-screen TVs, soundproofing and kettles or fridges noted in several reviews.

Worth weighing

3 to weigh
  • Breakfast is not on site — Breakfast appears to be served at a nearby cafeteria rather than in the guest house itself. Fine for most, but not a hotel-style morning spread.
  • Mixed marks for value — Value scores lower than the other categories, and a few guests felt the price was only acceptable rather than a clear bargain, despite many others calling it good value.
  • Check-in window ends at 10 pm — Arrivals are only accepted between 2 pm and 10 pm. Late flights or evening plans will need advance coordination.

8.2Verified guest

“A bright, beautiful room with a private bathroom with hairdryer, bidet and shower cap. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the service impeccable. The staff were nice and welcoming. It was close to a quiet area with good restaurants and coffee shops, the Vatican museums, St Peter's Basilica and the Stadio Olimpico.”

8.2Verified guest

“I stayed five nights and the location was ideal: a short walk from the Vatican and surrounded by great restaurants and shops. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, giving us recommendations and a map of the area. The rooms were clean and spacious, and I loved the memory foam mattress and pillows. The smart TV was a nice bonus, so we could watch Netflix when we had downtime. It was great value for the price and made my Roman stay even better.”

8.2Verified guest

“Very helpful staff, a good and quiet location very close to Metro A at Ottaviano station, nice clean rooms, free WiFi and breakfast.”

8.2Verified guest

“The location is really good, a couple of minutes from Ottaviano metro, with a nice, cheap bakery and grocery store that always seemed to be open. The small cafeteria where breakfast was served is just across the street. The furniture and equipment are new, and our room was cleaned very well every single day over our eight-night stay. WiFi is good once you ask for the password. Hosts Salvatore and Paola were awesome: friendly, helpful, and they even gave us a small gift when we left — a bottle of wine from their home region and homemade marmalade. A lovely touch at the end of our holiday.”
